Pau d’arco (Tabeburia avellanedeae) is native to South America, where it is used to treat various diseases, including pain, arthritis, prostatitis, fever, dysentery, boils and ulcers, and various cancers. For centuries, Pau d’arco extract has been a component of herbs and a dietary supplement.
